As part of our Elite program, Metro students must be able to put into practice and display what they have learnt when it comes you correct grooming, deportment and etiquette in a variety of environments. The Morley studio recently put these skills into practice as they dined at the prestigious C Restaurant before taking their front row seats at a Perth Fashion Festival show. |

Armadale has been a long running studio in the Armadale communty. With growth in the Armadale and surrounding areas this is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about making a positive difference in others lives while running their own successful business. We are looking for the right operator to join the Metro Team and purchase the Aramdale area licence, complete with studio and student base. Mary Sequitin on stage at the EveryWoman Expo 2008 Rising to the GK Challenge, "Less for self, more for others, enough for all".
GK stands for Gawad Kalinga which translates to "to give care". The 777 movement is a project that started in 2003 by the GK Foundation. They are striving to build 700,000 homes in 7,000 communities within 7 years in the Philippines and other 3rd world countries. Each year Miss GK 2008 - Miss Philippines Charity Quest is held to support a village project which is located in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City, Philippines. Each candidate takes it upon themselves to raise money for this cause. The winner for 2008 is our very own Armadale Principal, Mary Sequitin. Mary undertook many fundraising ventures including a very successful fashion fundraiser which was jam packed with live performances, fashion parades and raffles. Now as the Ambassador for the youth and spokesperson for Perth, Mary will travel to the GK village in January 2009 to offer support and see the difference she has made. |

Metro is passionate about making a significant difference in communities world wide. As part of our mission, Company Principal Adam Barralet travelled to Ormoc, Philippines in July 2008. He worked with 160 students each day conducting workshops on confidence, creating a good and lasting impression and modelling. The finale of the week was a Fashion Show where all the students presented themselves and clothes from local boutiques to a vocal crowd of 2,000 supporters and media. |

Metro Modelling Academy is passionate not only about the success of each individual but also of the planet, and thus, delivering our services in a way that has minimal to no negative impact on the environment. It is Metro's goal that our students not only learn to respect themselves and others, but also the planet in which we share. In 2008 Metro developed and released our Environmental Policy. You will start to see some changes in the way we do things such as green recycling bins in all studios, removal of paper based Operations Manual, Forms, etc and encouraging certain behaviours such as car-pooling. If you have any suggestions, we'd love to hear them! Email

Metro Modelling Academy chooses not to act as a modelling or talent agency. This would clash with our main goal of increasing students' self esteem and confidence if they were competing in class for work opportunities. However we acknowledge that some of our students have set goals to work in the industry. Metro has a mother-agent agreement with the national agency Scene Model Management. This allows students to still attend and gain experience at Metro and be represented by one of the leading Australian agencies.
Two of our students, Harriet Park and Rebecca Mason (pictured) have started working with Scene. Check out their test shoots included in our slideshow on our Home Page. |
